چکیده
The D/H ratio of hydrogen gas in equilibrium with water vapor over aqueous lithium chloride solutions was measured at 25 °C, using a hydrophobic platinum catalyst. Experimental details are described. The hydrogen isotope effect between the solution and pure water depends linearly on the LiCl concentration up to ca. 12 m, and at higher concentrations a marked deviation from linearity takes place, as was also observed for the oxygen isotope effect measured by Bopp et al. On the basis of these hydrogen and oxygen isotope effects it is concluded that H2lsO is enriched in the water molecules coordinated to Li+ ions and HDieO is enriched in the free water molecules of the solution. The observed deviation from linearity for concentrations higher than ca. 12m is interpreted in terms of structural changes in the hydration sphere of the Li+ ions.

Hydrogen Isotope Fractionation in Aqueous Alkali Halide Solutions
The D/H ratios of hydrogen gas in equilibrium with aqueous alkali halide solutions were determined at 25 °C, using a hydrophobic platinum catalyst. The hydrogen isotope effect between the solution and pure water changes linearly with the molality of the solution at low concentrations, but deviates from this linearity at higher concentration for all alkali halide solutions. The magnitude of the ...

Reduced graphene oxide film was synthesized on a glassy carbon electrode by electro reduction of graphene oxide powders in aqueous solution. Then platinum nano particles were deposited on reduced graphene oxide film that was deposited on the glassy carbon electrode via electro reduction of platinum salt. The Physical morphology of the platinum on reduced graphene oxide film was evaluated by sca...
متن کاملSulfur isotope fractionation analysis in mineral waters using an Agilent 8900 ICP-QQQ
Stable isotope geochemistry is a branch of geology that investigates the age of natural materials, their origin and the processes they have undergone since formation [1]. Stable isotope analysis is also used in biogeochemical studies to monitor element cycling in ecosystems [2] and to identify geographical/regional differences for food provenance and archaeology. Of the elements of interest in ...
متن کاملCalculations of the Oxygen Isotope Fractionation between Hydration Water of Cations and Free Water
The oxygen isotope fractionation factors between the hydration complex of the alkali ions in the gas phase and a free water molecule have been computed on the basis of the energy surfaces calculated by Kistenmacher, Popkie and Clementi for a water molecule in the field of an alkali ion. For comparison with recently measured oxygen isotope fractionation factors in aqueous alkali halide solutions...
متن کاملStable hydrogen and carbon isotope fractionation during microbial toluene degradation: mechanistic and environmental aspects.
Primary features of hydrogen and carbon isotope fractionation during toluene degradation were studied to evaluate if analysis of isotope signatures can be used as a tool to monitor biodegradation in contaminated aquifers. D/H hydrogen isotope fractionation during microbial degradation of toluene was measured by gas chromatography. Per-deuterated toluene-d(8) and nonlabeled toluene were supplied...
